She was never cut out for this. The woman never had it in her to kill or to harm, what made her choose this path was still troubling her. Did she mean to become this? Or was it all just an escape from her past? The sound of her feet hitting wet pavement filled her ears, followed by the occasional splash from a car driving through a puddle on the nearby street.

Maybe she should just quit this. Being in the gang had its perks, but every good thing has it share of bad. Boy did this have its share of bad. The gang, like all others, doesn't let a member easily leave, not without a beating or in some serious cases, death. The woman walked faster, just wanting to get home and sleep after a recent heist. Maybe Haywire would be awake, waiting for her to come home so she could drill her with questions about where she had been. Just like every night since she moved in.

The cargo shorts and black hoodie she wore were currently soaked from the downpour. As if she didn't have to explain enough to her girlfriend...

A noise from behind caused her to whip around, instinct flooding through her. A warm body slammed into her and, on reflex, she grabbed one of the attacker's arms, twisting it around behind them and shoving upwards. The yelp of pain that followed sounded eerily familiar. She paused, about to break the other woman's -as this form was definitely female- arm.

"What the fuck , Mist?" The other one yelled, drawing the attention of a passerby who was unfortunate enough to get caught out in this rain.

"Haywire?" The woman pulled away, dropping the other's arm in surprise. 'Haywire' was a nickname this woman chose early on in her life. Her real name was Heather, though why she created an alias was beyond the woman.

Mist watched as her girlfriend turned around, light brown hair swishing with the motion, spraying a few droplets of rain water in the process.

"What're you doing here, Heather?" The woman sighed, folding her arms around herself in an attempt to starve off the cold brought on by the weather.

"Looking for you, damnit! You just go off every night without telling me where the fuck you're going! I get worried! And with this storm about to get worse-" She broke away, green eyes alight with anger.

"I'm sorry. For worrying you, I mean. I don't ask for you to look out for me, I'm a grown adult and can take care of myself." Her black hair was matted in front of her face, but you could still see the cold fire brewing in her own green eyes.

"I'm your girlfriend! I'm supposed to care! Especially when you go off and disappear in the middle of night!" Haywire threw her hands up in the air and turned away, walking back in the direction of their apartment. "For all I know you could be seeing somebody behind my back..." Her mood seemed to change in the single sentence. Gone was the fury, replaced by a sadness that laced her words. "Let's just go home."

"You shouldn't accuse me of being disloyal, you know... I would never do something like that. I just... have this job I need to do sometimes. It can only be done at night." Mist wrapped her arms around herself, before mentally cursing at how insecure she sounded. This was the exact opposite of the way she should be acting.

"A job you still won't tell me. We've had this talk, I know."

"Then why do you need reminded all the time?"

"Because I figured you could trust me by now." mumbled Heather as she stopped on the sidewalk.

"I do trust you. More then you know." Mist walked up behind the other woman, wrapped her arms around the other's torso.

"Then show it."

Mist turned the taller girl around before planting a kiss to her lips. Maybe the pouring rain was like sheets of ice, but the contact between the two was warm. Heather sighed when they pulled away, arms finding themselves around Mist's waist.

"You'll tell me when you're ready, right?" Haywire asked as she pressed the woman's slightly shivering form closer.

"Of course." she responded, voice muffled by the fabric of Heather's jacket.

The embrace was short-lived as the brunette took and step back. "Now come on, let's go home and I'll make you some coffee. It'll be a miracle if we aren't both sick from this."

Mist grinned. So maybe all this drama with the gang wasn't over, but at least Haywire was supporting enough.

"That's sounds great."
So yeah,  :iconflashinghaywire:  wanted a drabble of her two OCs.  It was only fair since she did one of mine, which if you want to read, should be called 'Dancing' on her profile.

There's somewhat of an unexplained backstory here, then again, if you have any questions, ask her about it.  They are her characters, after all.  This was mostly a gift for her own enjoyment and I'm putting it here just in case.
